Teaching Philosophy
I am an instructor that values each and every one of you as individuals. We all have something unique to bring to the table, whether it is what we know coming into the course or our cultures, it is all important to who you are. I believe we can and will learn as a community supporting each other through each of the challenges we will face in our journey together. Ultimately, we are here to learn how to be safe, ethical, caring nurses and I am here to support you along the way.
Communication:
You may call my by my first name (Diane) and if that is not comfortable for you professor or Dr. Diane works well too. Whichever is more comfortable for you.
To contact me use the associated Canvas email first, Butte email second, text my cell phone third (please text before calling as well). I will never answer after 8pm at night, I am usually in bed reading a good book by then.
I will post weekly office hours, however, I am really available most days with some notice for zoom, face-to-face on campus or Chico (where I live), and phone calls.
There is also a Q&A section in our Canvas system where you can reach out to each other with any questions or concerns, answer each others questions or needs, and I will be monitoring and answering when needed. This is a great way to create relationship and work together as a team.
