My research interests are focused on the spatial distribution of demographic and economic phenomena. In my Ph.D. dissertation (Outstanding Doctorate Award) I studied the differences in population and employment concentration at the local level for Spain, taking into account the interplay between areas across the urban system. I also looked into the territorial dynamics related to the ageing process and the wage gap between tiers of the urban hierarchy. Additionally, I participated in studies about the relationship between the industrial structure and the growth of youth unemployment in European regions, about the location of second homes in Spain, the the impact of Creative Industries on local economies in the UK, and the effect of spatial economic inequality on electoral processes (both in Spain and the UK).
