2021 Gem City Days
--Gem City Days 2021 was hosted September 10 & 11 of 2021--
Well Gem City Days 2021 #29 is in the books!! What a weekend! Friday night was setup night followed by the amazing Members Only band, if you haven’t seen them, I hope you will! Very enjoyable and just fun to watch!!!
Saturday morning was a bit windy as all the other vendors came in to set up. Some tents got broken, some merch got broken but everyone persevered and got ready to take in the crowd!
The parade was EPIC! Lots of participants & Spectators! What a fun time!
We had over 50 vendors!!! Thanks to each of you for joining us!!! You made this event amazing. There was such a variety of items that everyone could shop to their hearts content! And food trucks… wow they really outdid themselves! Preston Wright emceed for us and and as usual was great - and he said repeatedly, “if you go home hungry it’s your own fault!” He was right!
The line up of entertainment was great and again, there was everything from southern rock and country to bluegrass and a set by Matt Harp that showed guitar talent that was a joy to watch! We welcomed Alabama artist Marde Brooks and loved his performance plus he was a truly nice guy. Big Smitty closed out the show as only Big Smitty can while we were blessed to enjoy weather that was phenomenal!
Thanks again to all the sponsors that make this event possible!!! A community like we have in our little area is such a joy! I love being a part of Diamond- I love the small town atmosphere, the friendliness that comes from knowing your neighbors! Knowing you can count on your friends and neighbors to pitch in and help when needed!
I hope everyone had the opportunity to make new friendships, renew old friendships, or just meet someone new!
