This page explains how to delete your Dial-X account and what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

From inside the app

Open Dial-X and sign in.

Tap Settings in the sidebar.

Scroll to the Account section.

Tap Delete Account.

Enter your password to confirm.

Confirm the final warning.

Your account is deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.

If you cannot access the app

Email dialx.developer@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account, with your Dial-X User ID and the phone number linked to your account (if any).

We will verify ownership and delete the account within 7 days.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed from our servers:

Your profile — name, photo, phone number, bio.

All your messages and their contents.

All photos, videos, voice notes and documents you sent.

Your contacts list.

Your call history.

Your groups and group messages.

Your encryption keys.

Any scheduled meetings.

Any additional identities — secondary IDs and linked phone numbers.

Your User ID becomes available for others to register.

What is kept

Messages you sent to other people remain on their devices and in their copy of the conversation. We cannot remove them, in the same way that a sent SMS cannot be recalled.

This is a limitation of any messaging service, not a choice we made.

Retention period

Deletion is immediate — data is removed from the live database as soon as you confirm.

Encrypted database backups may retain a copy for up to 30 days before being overwritten in the normal backup cycle. These backups are not accessible to anyone and are never restored except in the event of a catastrophic failure.

Inactive accounts

If you do not sign in for 13 months, your account and all its data are deleted automatically, without any action from you. Signing in at any point resets this.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. From inside the app you can:

Delete individual messages — for yourself or for everyone.

Clear an entire conversation.

Remove contacts.

Leave or delete groups.

Turn off Google Drive backup and delete existing backups.
