I went to AT&T's website to troubleshoot the problem. While there, I automatically restarted the U-verse Gateway device several times but to no avail. I made one more try at troubleshooting the problem today but I'm still having the same problem. Please help me resolve this issue.

If you can't break dial tone and the dial pad is good than it more than likely is a polarity issue and reversing the leads will fix it on a traditional landline, not sure about VOIP service, but it probably will. If it doesn't you could see if you can find a polarity guard, I don't think they make them anymore, but you can probably find them on ebay if they don't.

When you dial to you hear touch tones when you press each number? If you hear dail pulses (like a rotory dial phone) it won't work. Some phones have a switch that changes the mode for the dial pad from tone to pulse. Make sure your on tone.

Remember, the call-taker's questions are important to get the right kind of help to you quickly. Be prepared to follow any instructions the call-taker gives you. Many 911 centers can tell you exactly what to do until help arrives, such as providing step-by-step instructions to aid someone who is choking or needs first aid or CPR. if this means that you have to reserve all numbers on your phone provider from 1234XXXX,12340001 to 12349999 this would be an expensive solution.

The only way to do it directly, that is Direct Inbound Dialing (DID) is to have the external numbers from your provider. Any other way, like IVR or DISA, you can do that on your FreePBX but will not be exactly direct. The caller will have to either listen to a message indicating to dial the extension or listen to a beep (IVR) or receive a second dial tone (DISA)

Now, I set myself up for success by pre-typing the number and code to auto-dial. If the number is 800-555-5555 and the conference pin is 5024132132 and you have to hit a # after it, you can format it like this and your smart phone will do all the work for you.

we are using SfB and Teams together for the moment. This was working well for years. The last couple of days, issues are popping up all over our environment where people keep hearing a dial tone in their headset. Restarting SfB and Teams fixes this until the user has a new teams meeting or call. After the teams call, the dial tone comes up and stays on.

The above advices is all based on European phones. For a US phone, you need to dial 011-44-1470 and then the rest of the number. If you have a mobile (cell) phone, you can use thee + symbol instead of the 011, so you would type the number of "+441470..."
