The written content in the application will be examined by a team of dentists and consultants during the testing process. The majority of the periodontal (Gum) and oral hygiene information has been sourced from the British Society of Periodontology's website (https://www.bsperio.org.uk). Additionally, I would like to give credit to the "My Dental Care" app for providing inspiration for this project.

The diabetes section of the app follows the guidelines provided by the American Diabetes Association 2023 (https://diabetesjournals.org). However, the article by Preshaw, P.M. and Bissett, S.M. titled "Periodontitis and diabetes" has been used to draw attention to the link between diabetes and gum disease.

I am grateful to Diabetics South Africa for their valuable support and group meetings to assist diabetic patients in their journey (https://www.diabetessa.org.za/).
