Doctor Klaus Volker - head of the world-famous clinic of the Tumorzentrum Eva Mayr-Stihl Endocrinology Center in Stuttgart.
Last year, Dr. Klaus Volker visited Poland to learn about the experience of Polish doctors. According to him, in our country we do not focus on treating diabetics, but on earning money by large pharmaceutical companies.
After high-profile speeches in Germany, Mr. Klaus Volker agreed to give an interview to the Polish press agency. What does a famous doctor think about Polish methods of treating diabetes? Why does he say that in Poland the health of diabetics "is indifferent to doctors?"
Editorial: While interviewing the German press, you said that during your stay in Poland you made a shocking discovery. Could you comment on this?
- I want to emphasize right away that I have a good approach to Poland, Polish culture and citizens. Unfortunately, your medicine has a different goal than treating your patients. At least in the field of endocrinology.
Let's look at the drugs that doctors recommend to diabetics in Poland: Metformin, Siofor, Glucofage, Galvus, etc. These drugs have long ceased to be used in foreign medicine. They cannot cure diabetes because they only lower blood glucose - temporarily. Conversely, when the drug stops working, glucose levels rise again. Therefore, in Poland, doctors should recommend the use of drugs at regular intervals to have any effect.
Sugar spikes that occur during therapy are just as harmful. Any doctor can confirm this! They still destroy blood vessels and internal organs, albeit a little more slowly. This means that all the consequences of diabetes, such as problems with eyesight, heart problems, reproductive system or kidney failure, will appear after all, at most with a delay.
Surprisingly, this treatment method was used in Germany more than 20 years ago. Today, most glucose-lowering drugs are used in extremely rare cases - when it is urgently necessary to lower the glucose level.
Why is it like that? I can only explain this by the fact that Polish doctors consider diabetes an incurable disease. In Germany, too, diabetes has been one of the most cost-effective diseases for several years, as it is far more profitable to continuously sell drugs than to actually treat people.
As far as I know, also in Poland, there are free drugs for diabetes, but they are extremely difficult to obtain. Why is access to appropriate treatment such a big problem?
There has been a lot of talk of corruption in the medical industry lately. Being diabetic is not easy, especially in a country where money is more important than the health of patients. For drug manufacturers, diabetics are a source of high income.
Editorial: What is the treatment of diabetes in Germany?
- When it comes to type 2 diabetes, otherwise known as acquired or age-related, most patients in Germany feel healthy, and more than 60% of former diabetics recover. This means that diabetes is completely relieved and it is all due to a completely different approach to treatment.
In the early 2000s, German scientists noticed that blood sugar levels could be stabilized by the splitting of glucose - that is, by lowering insulin resistance. As a result, much less insulin is needed for its complete breakdown - in many cases, the amount that is produced by the body is sufficient.
The most remarkable thing about this method is that while using the drug, the functions of the pancreas improve and the diabetes slowly recovers. This may take several months or even a year, but by doing so, all symptoms of diabetes disappear completely and the patient no longer needs to constantly monitor their glucose levels. Thanks to this discovery, we can extend the lives of patients by up to 10-15 years!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Polish medical statistics. According to which, diabetes ranks second in Poland in terms of mortality. Moreover, young people are dying of it, and 90% of diabetics do not live to be 60 years of age!
Editorial: Is there really no drug in Poland that could lower insulin resistance?
- Of course there are such drugs. In Poland, it is Diabetins Max Opinie. This formula was developed by Polish scientists in 2010. The main component of this drug is a special white mulberry. This plant can enhance the glucose separation reaction by more than 7 times. Thanks to this, you can observe a drop in blood sugar levels, not only immediately after taking the drug, but also with prolonged action.
In addition to white mulberry, Diabetins contains over 40 vitamins, micro and macro elements, useful for the health of diabetics, including those aimed at improving the functioning of internal organs that have been devastatingly affected by diabetic changes.
Here are a few of them:
Vitamin B1: Normalizes intracellular glucose metabolism. It is useful in the prevention of neuropathy, retinopathy, and nephropathy.
Vitamin РР (В3): It improves the functioning of the heart and blood vessels, dilates the capillaries, and also normalizes blood circulation.
Vitamin B6: It has a positive effect on the nervous system. It increases the sensitivity of cells to insulin.
Zinc: Increases insulin secretion. In addition, it removes excess copper from the body (which is usually found in diabetics; the more copper in the blood, the more difficult diabetes is to treat).
Chrome: It lowers blood sugar levels, protects against type 2 diabetes and helps regulate blood glucose levels.
Editorial: Is Diabetins Max sold in Polish pharmacies?
- As far as I know, the producer of Diabetins wanted to enter the Polish pharmacological market. Unfortunately he was refused permission as many obstacles were encountered. As I have already mentioned, the life of diabetics in Poland is not easy. Nowadays, pharmacology is pure profit! When something works and really helps patients, it is not available in their country because the income is too small. However, there are endocrinologists who are interested in progressive treatments and are aware that white mulberry is able to lower insulin resistance.
Editorial: What would you recommend to Polish diabetics?
- Ordinary people, especially people over 50, suffer from it more than others. Therefore, to meet the needs of patients, the Polish Medical Center of Endocrinology offers a reimbursement for Diabetins with a 55% discount. For this reason, a special website was created where you can buy the product for half the price.
