In recent years, the impacts of AI on many aspects of society have been profound, affecting human lives and experiences in many ways. There's a growing realization that AI systems must not only be useful but also ethically and responsibly designed, encompassing principles of diversity and inclusion.
The Diversity and Inclusion in AI research team at CSIRO's Data61 are pleased to announce a call for participation for our upcoming 2nd Symposium on Diversity and Inclusion in Artificial Intelligence to be held on 14-15 November 2024 in virtual mode.
This symposium aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to exchange ideas, share research findings, and build a strong network committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in AI.

We would like to focus on Ethical and Responsible AI principles such as Fairness, Transparency, Accountability, Bias, Human Well-being, etc. in the following areas (but not limited to):
👥 Human-centered and Inclusive AI design & deployment
📊 The role of diverse data sets in preventing AI bias
🔄 Ensuring diverse representation in AI design, development, and deployment processes
⚙️ Monitoring, evaluating, and maintaining diversity and inclusion in AI systems
⚖️ Governance structures and considerations for diversity and inclusion in AI
Special interest in topics covering "Diversity and Inclusion in the age of Generative AI"
After the Symposium we will send the call for our second Special Issue on Diversity and Inclusion in AI in a selected Journal.
