DHS Students in grades 9-11 are eligible to participate in Upward Bound through the High School of Commerce. Upward Bound program is a year-round, federally sponsored, educational program serving high school students who are low-income and/or first-generation college students with the goal of helping students persist through high school and college. Students have access to after-school, weekend, and summer programs to support academics and college exploration. More information can be found on the website and Instagram page.

Students interested in fields related to the Health Sciences, Nursing, and Medicine can sign up for the Baystate Springfield Educational Partnership (BSEP) through Baystate Health. BSEP advances education for Springfield youth, and prepares them for careers that are committed to serving the health and wellbeing of the community.
