The 50th Annual Viking Marching Band Invitational at Danville High School will be on October 5, 2024. We are one of the longest running contests in all of Illinois and we are looking forward to hosting again next fall. Below is the information and link to register for our contest.

Classification: Once all the bands have been registered, they will be put into classifications according to band size. First, second, and third place will be awarded in each class as well as caption awards.
Entry Fee: $225 Early Registration Fee before June 30, 2024. $250 after June 30 with payment due by August 31, 2024.

Judges: We are working to secure an outstanding judging panel to give you the best feedback possible to help you reach your full potential throughout the season. Our panel will adjudicate the following categories using the Music for All system of adjudication where music counts as 60% of your score and visual is 40%. Please see below for the breakdown.
Music General Effect: two judges in the press box each with a 20 point sheet.
Music Performance Individual: one judge on the field with a 20 point sheet (averaged with music performance ensemble).
Music Performance Ensemble: one judge in the press box with a 20 point sheet (averaged with music performance individual).
Visual General Effect: one judge in the press box with a 20 point sheet.
Visual Performance Individual: one judge on the field with a 20 point sheet (averaged with visual performance ensemble).
Visual Performance Ensemble: one judge in the press box with a 20 point score sheet (averaged with visual performance individual).
We will have caption awards as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class. Grand Champion trophy is awarded to the band with the highest overall score regardless of class.
