Welcome to the website of Thin-film and Photovoltaics Group (TPG). We are situated at the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad. The website provides a gateway to the research activities being carried out in the group and also gives information about teaching content currently been taught by the group leader.
The group acknowledges the support by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India through the grants- SB/S2/RJN-048/2016, DST/NM/NT/2018/146, ECR/2018/002132 and CRG/2022/004055.

Mar 2023- The group received CRG grant entitled "High Performance, Colour Tunable Perovskite Solar Cells Employing Externally Integrated Reflector" from SERB (now ANRF)- DST.
Mar 2023- The PI shifted to IIT Dharwad
June 2022- IIT Bhilai and a major speciality glass manufacturer signed an agreement to develop perovskite solar cells on flexible glass.
Oct 2021- Ms. Sonia Rani got selected for Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF). Congratulations Sonia!!
May 2021- Mr. Arun Kumar got selected for Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF). Congratulations Arun!!
Oct 2020- Table-top sputtering deposition system (NanoPVD- Moorfield) installed in the lab.

Oct 2019- The group received "Institute Matching Grant" funded by IIT Bhilai with an outlay of 25 Lakhs for the purchase of PVD coater.
Mar 2019- The group received ECRA project entitled “Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells for Tandem and Building Integrated Photovoltaic Applications (SPSC-TBIPV)” with an outlay of Rs. 55 Lakhs. Details
