Welcome to the website of Thin-film and Photovoltaics Group (TPG). We are situated at the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad. The website provides a gateway to the research activities being carried out in the group and also gives information about teaching content currently been taught by the group leader.

Mar 2024- Dr. Pilik Basumatary joined the group as an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow. Welcome onboard!
Dec 2023- Mr. Arun Kumar is now Dr. Arun Kumar. Congratulations!
Mar 2023- The group received CRG grant entitled "High Performance, Colour Tunable Perovskite Solar Cells Employing Externally Integrated Reflector" from SERB (now ANRF)- DST.
Mar 2023- The PI shifted to IIT Dharwad
June 2022- IIT Bhilai and a major speciality glass manufacturer signed an agreement to develop perovskite solar cells on flexible glass.
Oct 2021- Ms. Sonia Rani got selected for Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF). Congratulations Sonia!!
May 2021- Mr. Arun Kumar got selected for Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF). Congratulations Arun!!
Oct 2020- Table-top sputtering deposition system (NanoPVD- Moorfield) installed in the lab.

Oct 2019- The group received "Institute Matching Grant" funded by IIT Bhilai with an outlay of 25 Lakhs for the purchase of PVD coater.
Mar 2019- The group received ECRA project entitled “Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells for Tandem and Building Integrated Photovoltaic Applications (SPSC-TBIPV)” with an outlay of Rs. 55 Lakhs. Details

Jan 2019- The group received DST- sponsored project entitled “Large Area, Semi-Flexible and Indium-free Perovskite Solar Cells” under the Nano Mission Program with an outlay of Rs. 1.38 Crore. Details Dec 2018- Mr. Anup Kumar Ghosh joined as the first PhD student in the group
Nov 2018- Dr. Dhriti Sundar Ghosh delivered an invited talk "Light Management in Photovoltaics" at PRL, Ahmedabad
Oct 2017- Dr. Dhriti Sundar Ghosh Joined IIT Bhilai as Assistant Professor
