Since day one, people with morals have always believed that technology must always be utilized to favor humanity, not destroy it. But it seems like every invention that takes place, be it in the world of nuclear energy or in the tech world with the latest technology like artificial intelligence, powerful governments of the world always find a way to abuse it to favor their own ulterior motives. However, Dheeraj Sudan and Meenu Hinduja, owners of MHDS Techno Soft feel that it is not right for the governments to take advantage of technology like artificial intelligence and use it in war because that only means that we as humans are leveraging technology to take the lives of other humans. They feel that there is nothing more unfortunate than witnessing their favorite form of technology being utilized as a weapon of mass destruction, a technology they are using in favor of human interest.
Recently, there was news that one of the world's biggest tech companies has signed a classified AI deal with one of the world's superpowers and will help their government by giving them access to all the latest happenings in the world of artificial intelligence. The employees of this very company have written an open letter to their CEO to not take this step as this means that any blood that is shed or life is taken through the use of AI, these employees will directly be responsible for this mayhem. And Dheeraj Sudan who runs MHDS Techno Soft with Meenu Hinduja, feels that not everyone is working for money, some have morals too, and employers must respect that. He says, “If tomorrow one of my clients says that he or she wants a tailor-cut AI solution because they want to send malware to their competitor to corrupt their systems, I will simply say no. My company has its own ethics and policies. We share the policies with the clients before getting them on board and if they do not read them, it is not my fault. So I completely understand this open letter that the employees have sent to their CEO. They do not want any blood on their hands. They are against the war just like billions of us. Now imagine the study and research that they do on artificial intelligence is being utilized by a superpower to leverage its war tactics.”
The problem with artificial intelligence is that it is not governed by an international body right now and which is why governments involved in war are leveraging this technology to launch unmanned missiles on their opposition. But we also know how many civilians have lost their lives in wars over the years. One can only hope that big tech companies set boundaries and give a big NO to help governments in war because this way, they are becoming a major part of the problem.
