Dr. Dharmendra Joshi (Dr. DJ) is a dedicated Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the medical field, including more than a decade in cardiac surgery. Born in Bode, Bhaktapur, he demonstrated academic excellence from an early age, achieving outstanding performance in the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination from SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur and earning scholarships during his higher secondary education and MBBS studies.
He completed his MBBS with honors from Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College (JMC-12) Sylhet, and later earned his MS in Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Throughout his career, Dr. Joshi has actively contributed to clinical research and academic activities, conducting several research projects and receiving multiple academic awards and recognitions.
Dr. Joshi has served as a Medical Officer at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) and Kathmandu Medical College Hospital (KMC), Duwakot. He later worked as a Consultant CTVS Surgeon at Nepal Mediciti Hospital for two years. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of CTVS at National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, Kathmandu. In addition, he works as a Consultant CTVS Surgeon at Madhyapur Hospital (MH) and as a Registrar Cardiac Surgeon at Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre (SGNHC), Kathmandu.
Known for his surgical precision, compassionate care, and commitment to excellence, Dr. Joshi strives to provide safe, effective, and personalised treatment for patients with heart, lung, and vascular diseases. He is fluent in Nepali, Newari, English, Bengali, and Hindi, enabling him to communicate comfortably with patients from diverse backgrounds, ensure a clear understanding of their health concerns, and build strong doctor-patient trust.
