The overall purpose of the library commons program is to ensure that all library patrons are effective users of information in all its forms.
• The library commons is a resource that supplements and complements, the school district's educational program through daily interaction with professional personnel and members of the school's learning community.
The library commons provides an atmosphere where students can learn to be skillful and discriminating users of available print and digital materials.
• The library commons fosters library patronage as a lifelong practice.
• The library commons helps each student to reach h/h maximum potential by preparing a student to participate in society positively and productively.
• The library commons is an organic resource area that extends and supports the interaction of the school librarian, teachers, administrators, students, and interested members of the school community.
• The library common's staff fosters competence and stimulates interest in reading, viewing, and using information; and works with all educators to design learning strategies that meet the needs of the collective.
