This policy explains how the current Android version of Another Route handles information. The app helps you create photo walks, keep a journal, and make postcards.
Information used by the app
Another Route stores the walks you create on your device. A walk can include its theme, duration and time, prompts, progress, favourite status, participant names, photographs and captions. Photos you choose or take may themselves contain personal information or metadata, such as the time or place a photo was taken. The app also stores your appearance, motion, haptic and welcome-screen preferences. These details are used to run the app, restore your journal and settings, create postcards and provide features you choose.
Photos and device access
When you choose a photo, Android's photo picker or document provider gives the app access to the item you select, and the app copies it into its private storage. If you choose to take a photo, the app opens a camera app and provides a destination for the image. The camera app and any photo or cloud media provider you use have their own privacy practices. On Android 9 and earlier, the app may request storage permission when you choose to save a postcard to the gallery. The app does not request location access or use your device's location to track your walks.
Developer access, analytics and advertising
In the current version, the developer does not receive your journal, photos, names, captions or settings through the app. The app does not include advertising or analytics services and does not request Internet access. It does not create user accounts. This does not control data handled independently by Android, your device or the external apps and providers you choose to use.
Sharing and backups
You decide whether to save or share a postcard. Saving creates a separate image in your device's gallery. Sharing creates a temporary image and sends it to the app or recipient you select using Android's share interface. The receiving service or person handles that copy under their own practices.
You can also export a ZIP backup containing your walk records and associated photos to a location you select, or import an existing backup. A document or cloud storage provider you choose may process or store that file under its own terms. Backup files are not protected by a password by the app; anyone with access to a copy may be able to read its contents. App preferences are not included in the exported walk backup. The app opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup. On some devices, system-managed device-to-device transfer may still copy app data when you migrate devices; availability and handling depend on your device and system settings.
Retention and deletion
Walks, their associated copies of photos, and preferences remain in app storage until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app. You can delete a walk from its details screen; its associated app-stored photos are deleted with it. Replacing a photo or a prompt also removes the associated app-stored photo copies. Clearing app data or uninstalling normally removes the app's private files and settings. Temporary files may remain in the app cache until removed by the app or Android, or until the app is uninstalled.
Deleting a walk or uninstalling the app does not delete the original photos in your photo library, postcards saved to the gallery, exported ZIP backups, or copies you have shared. Delete those separately from the relevant gallery, storage provider, recipient or device. We cannot delete copies held by another person or service.
Security and voluntary communications
The app relies on Android's app-private storage and permission controls for its working data. It does not provide separate password protection for exported backup files. Protect your device and choose sharing destinations carefully. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
If you choose to email us, we receive the information you include in your message and use it to respond to your request. Email providers process communications under their own terms. Do not include photos, backups or other information you do not want to share.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The updated policy will describe the version's practices. For privacy questions or help, contact Dev with Rehman at alimehdisiddiqui99@gmail.com.
