The Woods Youth
Summer Trip
Hello Everyone,
Just a reminder this blog and the next three or four will be journal entries from the summer trip I went on with my youth group. We went to South Dakota for some bonding activities and Kansas City for Bold Conference. This blog covers day two, here is the link for Day One.
Day 2: Yesterday we left at 6p.m.. We drove straight through the night and arrived at Deadwood around 8p.m.. I was a little worried about sleeping on the bus but it worked out. While on the bus we read through all of Ephesians and will focus on individual chapters throughout the trip. Yesterday we focused on chapter one, and today on chapter two. I suggest you read it too. Some of my notes may be in my next book.
I have been sick this past week and I was debating on going on this trip. It really came down to how I was feeling on the day of the trip. There was a lot of temptation not to go but I pulled through and I'm here, counting my trials as joy (James 1:2).
In addition to being on this trip I won the bus scavenger hunt and was rewarded with free lunch. For the final round of the bus scavenger hunt we had to collect...
3 school ids
2. A deck of cards sorted by suit
3. A journal entry from last year
4. A flashlight without batteries
5. A sock filled with batteries
6. A text from a parent that didn't know the kids would not have their phones
As you can see from the list above, my youth group has fun. Speaking of fun... Today our bus had some problems and we were stuck in a parking lot for four-ish hours while we waited for our bus. Instead of complaining, one of the pastors went into a near by store and bought a football and some people played football in the parking lot while the rest of us went off and made our own adventures in nearby stores.
Talk to you soon,
Abigail Sandison
