For my Key Insights #1, I explained how taking a sports-affiliated class that focused on gender, sexuality, and sports media, which was initially out of my comfort zone, inspired my final Media Watch project. I connected my passion for mental health with course concepts by examining how media affects gymnasts through stereotypes, hypermasculinity, gender, disability, and inequality.
