Welcome to my site!

I'm Devon Afquir (They/he/she),  a genderfluid 2 spirit Métis-Cree afro-indigenous person. I currently attend online High School and am working toward my passion for writing and pursuing a career in it. I have written a wide variety of plays, poems, short stories,and essays with a couple novels currently in the works. These are often posted on my Wattpad page or my blog. My writing centers around my queer and cultural identity. I mix lived experience with fictional/dramatized versions of life while applying my ever growing knowledge and world view to all my writings. For me writing is a spiritual experience, it allows me to connect to my innermost self and share that typically hidden part of me with the world.  As an aspiring author I've been writing since I could lay pen to paper. I write in various genres and formats and work to create inclusion for queer and indigenous people in my writing, my work deals with mental health, wrongdoings against marginalized peoples and also puts my experiences in the spotlight. 

I currently live in Hinton, Alberta (Treaty 6 Territory) with my parents and brother and my dog named Otis.
