ACADEMIC BULLYING: ROLE OF GENDER AND CULTURE-Ongoing- PI

This is a cross cultural study to understand the forms , perceprions and responses to workplace bullying among faculty. This mixed method study also attempts to understand the cultural and gender dimensions of academic bullying

Factors affecting scalability of micro enterprises in Kerala -Ongoing- Co-PI

The study will be done in the context of Kudumbashris in Kerala and the scalability will be studied from economic, human capital and legal perspectives. This study will be carried out among selected Kudumabshri units from all the 14 districts in the state of Kerala


Attitude and awareness about menstrual cups- An exploratory study in the state of Kerala -Ongoing-PI

The major objectives of the study are to check awareness about sustainable menstruation among young women , to

study the factors influencing the use of menstrual cup among young women and their attitude towards them and to study the level of satisfaction among menstrual cup users.The study will be exploratory in nature and mixed methodology will be used. For the first two objectives of the study, the population will be young menstruating women in the age group of 18-24 in the state of Kerala. A mixed method approach will be used to check the awareness and attitude of young women towards sustainable menstruation and in specific menstrual cups.


Emotional Labour, Job Burn Out and Job Satisfaction among Nurses in Kerala: A study of Managed Hearts -Completed-PI

Funded by Cochin University of Science and Technology for 2 years, Rs. 2,00,000.


The study was done among a sample of 341 nurses working in public sector hospitals in Kerala, India through survey . Traditionally nursing has been considered as a female dominated profession but recently the n umb e r o f ma l e n u r s e s h a s increased.To understand the gender differences on the indirect influence of surface acting and deep acting emotional labour via burnout gender was studied as the moderator variable The study also aimed to check the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between emotional labour and job satisfaction. Surface acting was found to have full mediation effect and deep acting had partial mediation on the relationship between emotional labour strategies and job satisfaction The most impor-tant finding of the study through moderated mediation analysis is that gender was found to moderate the indirect effect from surface acting and deep acting to job satisfaction via burnout.


The mediating effect of HR Practices on the relationship between Knowledge Management Practices and IP creation in Knowledge Intensive Organizations -Completed-PI

Knowledge intensive organisations survive and sustain through effective knowledge management practices. The study attempts to understand the interplay of knowledge management, human resource practices and innovation performance in knowledge-intensive organisations. In-depth interviews were carried out with five subject matter experts using semi-structured interview schedule for finalising the conceptual model. The model was empirically tested using a questionnaire on a sample of 152 respondents and the results are discussed. Organisation memory was found to be the most significant predictor of innovation performance followed by knowledge acquisition
