Device readings and local history
DevicePulse reads battery level, current, temperature, memory, storage capacity, device specifications, and available sensors through Android APIs. Availability and accuracy depend on your device. Hardware checks may require your own confirmation. Device readings, test results, charging history, notes, and exported reports are stored locally. Dashboard readings and saved history are not sent as analytics events. Your media library, report notes, and report signatures are not uploaded to our servers.
Optional permissions
Camera access is used for a camera preview and flashlight checks. Microphone access records a short test clip in memory, which is discarded when you leave the test. Location access is used only during an optional location check; coordinates are not saved by DevicePulse or sent to analytics. Photo, video, and audio permissions allow local storage analysis of files Android permits the app to access. Selected-file access is supported where available. Notifications are optional for reminders. Biometrics use Android's system prompt; DevicePulse never receives your fingerprint or face template. You can refuse or revoke permissions in Android Settings.
Optional analytics and crash reports
If you enable usage analytics and crash reporting in Settings, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics process app interactions, technical device and app information, app-instance or installation identifiers, crash stack traces, and diagnostic information to help us improve reliability. Collection is off until you opt in. Crash diagnostics may include technical context such as battery state and free memory or storage. Analytics may derive an approximate geographic region from your IP address; precise GPS coordinates are not sent. We do not attach names, contact information, exact location, recordings, photos, file paths, or report content to analytics events. You can disable collection in Settings at any time. Google's processing is described at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Telemetry is sent over encrypted connections and retained according to the configured Google service retention policies. We do not sell your personal information.
Ads and payments
The initial release does not display ads or offer in-app purchases.
Sharing, backups, and deletion
Reports, feedback, and backup files leave your device only when you choose a destination in Android's share interface. That destination's privacy policy applies. Android's device-backup service may back up app data according to your system settings. Delete saved history in DevicePulse Settings to remove locally saved checks, sessions, snapshots, and app-stored reports. Copies you previously shared and system backups must be removed separately. Uninstalling removes app-local data subject to Android's backup and restore settings. You may contact simedx@gmail.com with privacy questions or deletion requests; because optional telemetry does not include your contact details, we may be unable to identify a particular anonymous record.
Children and scope
DevicePulse is a general device utility intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not a medical device, repair certification, battery-health certification, or security guarantee.
Changes
We may update this policy when app behavior or service providers change. The latest policy will be published on this page with its effective date.
