Privacy Policy for Device Lock Check
Last updated: 21 October 2026
SUMMARY
Device Lock Check checks a phone on the device itself. By default nothing leaves the device. The only time data is sent anywhere is when you choose to press "Wrong result? Submit a sample" and confirm. That sample contains technical configuration values from the phone, not personal information.
WHAT THE APP READS
When you open the app it reads configuration values from the device it is running on, in order to display them to you on screen: device model, manufacturer, build and firmware identifiers; carrier and region configuration values set by the manufacturer; the list of active device administrator apps and the policies granted to them; bootloader and verified boot status; SIM card state. All of these are read through standard Android interfaces that are available to any app without special permission.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THAT INFORMATION
Unless you submit a sample, nothing leaves the device. The values are displayed on screen and discarded when the app closes. The app does not store anything, does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or any third-party software development kit, does not require an account and has no sign-in. It does not read your contacts, messages, photos, location, call history, installed accounts or any other personal data.
The Copy button copies the result shown on screen to your device's clipboard, at your request.
OPTIONAL SAMPLE SUBMISSION
If a result looks wrong, you can press "Wrong result? Submit a sample". Before anything is sent, a dialog asks what the phone actually is (a contract device, a clean device, or not sure), lets you add an optional note, and lists what will be uploaded. Nothing is sent unless you press Submit.
A submitted sample contains:
- your answer and your note, if you wrote one;
- the detection result shown on screen;
- the configuration values the check read (carrier, region, Knox Guard and similar system properties) and the package names and granted policies of active device administrator apps;
- device brand, manufacturer, model, Android version, build identifier and build fingerprint, and the app version.
A sample does not contain the IMEI, serial number, Android ID, phone number, accounts, location, or any of your files, messages or contacts. The app does not attach any identifier that links samples to you or to each other.
Samples are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to a Google Apps Script service operated by the developer and stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet in the developer's Google account. Google processes this data on the developer's behalf. Samples are used only to find and fix wrong detection results in future versions of the app. They are not sold, not shared with third parties and not used for advertising.
To ask for a sample to be deleted, email device2cash@gmail.com with the approximate time you submitted it and the phone model.
PERMISSIONS
The app requests one Android permission, INTERNET, which is used only to send a sample when you choose to submit one.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
