Detric Jones for Wilkes County Sheriff 

It is an honor to announce my candidacy to be the next Sheriff of Wilkes County.

Greetings Citizens of Washington/Wilkes,

I am Detric Jones.  I have been a resident of Wilkes County for many years.  My Wife and I have three children. 

It is an honor for me to announce my candidacy to be the next Sheriff of Wilkes County.  After careful thought and consideration, it is my belief that I am the best person to serve as Sheriff for Wilkes County.  I am the person who will bring back the law and order our community was accustomed to.  Wilkes County deserves to be a safe haven for all citizens.  Wilkes County needs to get back to a county where all citizens feel safe.  

With over 20 years of law enforcement experience, I firmly believe that I can and will get us back to the safe neighborhoods and communities we know and love. I have spent several years working in various capacities as a Peace Officer.  I have worked as a Military Police Officer, City of Washington Police Officer, and as a Deputy Sheriff in Wilkes County.  I currently serve as Captain for McDuffie County School District’s Department of Public Safety.  I guess you could say serving the public in law enforcement is my calling.
