introduction

Desmond Amofah was born on May 12th, 1990 in Brooklyn, New York. Parents were Owuraku Amofah and Sabrina Amofah. Siblings were Randy Amofah.

Desmond was interested in gaming when he was into handhelds several years into his life, but he got his first video game console, the Sega Dreamcast. The first game he played on it was Sonic Adventure. 

As YouTube was released on the internet after a few years, Desmond went on the platform in 2006 to 2007. He created his channel called "TR1Iceman" and made videos about rap battling. He was also featured in rap battles made by Grind Time and other channels.

Although he was known as just Iceman in his early YouTube days, he later on adopted the name of "Iceman Etika." The name Etika was inspired by the game Sonic Battle in which it had a password called "EkiTa." Desmond switch the k and t which pronounces as Etika. He got his hair from an afro to some dreadlocks to shaven, although he grew it later on to be a flat top hairstyle which he simply was inspired from the hairstyle in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

In 2010, Iceman Etika went to London for a Sonic event called Summer of Sonic 2010. He got to see music artists for Sonic games such as Jun Senoue and Johnny Gioelli from the band Crush 40. He was also interviewed on a Summer of Sonic video. 

Later in 2010, Desmond lost his older brother, Randy Amofah, due to an asthma attack driving through a sandstorm in Ghana.

In 2011, Etika went to the 3DS Event in New York and he got to meet and greet Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime.

In 2012, Etika was involved in collaborations of Pokemon Battle videos. He made his own channel called "EtikaWorldNetwork", but it turned out to be mysteriously deleted. He then made another channel called "EWNetwork." He got an Alienware Laptop and made an unboxing for it. The videos he made were news videos on random topics such as hotels made of salt and weight loss Pepsi.

In 2013, Etika made more news videos such as Subway Footlongs and made video playthroughs like Minecraft.
