Storage organization

Organization and storage can be viewed as a way to minimize time spent looking for misplaced items. Incorporating organization and technology to create something more effective is a interesting challenge I look forward to. What is ADHD?ADHD or Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders. It's characterized by the following symptoms:

Misplacing your keys can cause significant levels of distress. One of the primary reasons keys are lost is forgetting where you left them.

"How might we design something to help remember?"

Idea

An organizer that helps keep track of your most important personal items. Like a set of keys, wallet or anything you can apply an NFC sticker.

Exploration 1.0

In the first stage of exploration, concepts were developed by sketching and building rough mock-ups.

Exploration 2.0

In the second phas, a range of quick cad models were done.

Exploration 3.0

In the last stage before finalizing the design, ideas were tested out in a more refined way.

Buddy Box

Buddy Box is a simple solution that promotes building your working memory and an easier, fun way to keep track of your belongings.

NFC Technology

The enclosure is equipped with all the needed processing power and is the central element that connect all other modules. Integrated in the base is a NFC tag that can be adapted by respective distributors.

NFC Detection

The individual NFC tags are attached to keychain rings or placed in wallet and communicate with the enclosure once they are resting in the box.

Bluetooth Sensing

Bluetooth enabled technology on the mobile phone connects to the application and determines if the user is home. Once they are home, a countdown timer begins. IF they user is detected at home but they keys are not in the enclosure a 20 minute countdown begins.

Status screen & LED

Once the keys are in the enclosure. The status LED turns from red to green and smiles. If the user is at home and they remove they keys, there is a 20 minutes grace period.

Phone App

If items are no longer in the box but the user is detected as being home. The Notifications are sent to phone if items are not in box.

Solution

Don't worry, buddy has your back! Leave your keys with buddy and watch his LED turn green and smile. If you forget to give him your keys. His LED stays red and he frowns. He reminds you with audible alerts and notifications on your mobile phone.
