This NetX corporate video needed some audio love. Much of it is subtle, but it was intended to draw attention to the movement without detracting from it or being distracting. The client liked it!

This short film /documentary was produced by a group of us in St Louis in 2024. Created and overseen by Grown Agency; edited by Jack Larson and Josh York at theforge-media.com; VO recording/sound design by Jim Mac.
Fun sound design for this corporate piece. It's got robotos, UI text sfx, mechanical footsteps in reverb, fun beats, glass breaking, and great animation by Josh @ The Forge Media St louis.

Boeing's video to announce their winning of the T-X trainer selection for the USAF. I recorded and sampled the sounds of the actual aircraft on location at Boeing/StLouis, then created the sound track almost entirely with these sounds. We partnered with client Ascension Healthcare to produce this video which included over 60 individuals singing and self-recording from their homes during the pandemic of 2020. Although using a guide track for their singing, most were not professional singers, so creative vocal editing and tuning were crucial.

Before and After examples. Here, I've shown what the audio portion of a video sounds like after I've mixed it. Typically, a client or editor will send me the video as .MP4 along with an OMF or AAF of the audio timeline. Then, after choosing the proper tracks of mic or mics, I'll de-noise if needed, apply eq and dynamics processing, add SFX and sound design, and mix the show based on its intended playback location. Often, I'll provide a different mix for a live event in a big space with large loudspeakers, and one that's for use online where many viewers/listeners will be watching and listening on laptops or tablets or earbuds.

The above before/after example shows the use of AI voices to fix awkward dialog in a documentary or interview-style corporate video. The speakers were not available to re-record, so AI-generated voices were used to closely match each speaker, replacing words or syllables as needed. This is particularly helpful when a speaker is edited to sound upcut or has upspeak at the end of a phrase; we can now bring that phrase ending downward to make it sound like the end of a thought, which is more natural sounding.
The above example "Job" shows the use of noise reduction and reverb reduction to make this on-camera talent's dialog sound clearer.
