Not only did we meet all of our project goals and objectives, but we had over 300 children and parents come through our department on the day of the event. Our sponsors agree that our project was a SUCCESS!
The Occulus Rift REVIT walkthrough was our most popular event. Children were excited to try the VR and parents were interested to hear about how it can be used in industry.
We also offered software tutorials of AutoCAD, Solidworks, REVIT, and Sketchup. One student offered a prototyping demo station, and during the event, we had all of our 3D printers working on a print.
Kids loved drawing furniture on the 2D floor plans we created, as well as building cardboard boxes to add to our box city: Boxburgh.
3D scanning was also a big hit. Many kids and parents were interested in not only sitting for a scan, but also in ordering a miniature 3d printed bust.
Lastly, we offered lab tours and had volunteers on standby to answer any questions and offer direction to the guests.
