Our Team

The Alliance is composed of educators who have been involved in postsecondary education for decades. Some are also currently teaching classes, managing learning centers, and leading other campus projects. Others are retired from their institutions, but continue their work with academic writing, developing guides for better education practices, and other projects.

Dr. Linda Thompson, Professor Emeritus, Harding University <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> <link to memorium> Dr. Thompson was the series co-editor for the 3rd edition of the Guides. She was the former president of the National Association for Developmental Education. She was selected as a CLADEA Fellow.

Dr. Karen Patty-Graham, <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> Dr. Patty-Graham is the series co-editor of the Guides. She was the former president of the National Association for Developmental Education. She was selected as a CLADEA Fellow.

Dr. Jane Neuburger, Director of the Tutoring & Study Center, Syracuse University, retired <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> Dr. Neuburger is chairperson of the Alliance and co-author of the 3rd edition of the Guide for Tutoring. She was selected as a CLADEA Fellow

Dr. Geoffrey Bailey, Executive Director of REACH, University Louisville <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> Dr. Bailey is co-author of the 3rd edition of the Guide for Tutoring.

Dr. Gwenn, Eldridge, Assistant Vice President, Academic transitions & Support and Professor of English, Ivy Tech Community College <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> Dr. Elidge is co-author of the 3rd edition of the Guide for Developmental Courses.

Dr. Jennifer Ferguson, Director of the Developmental Writing and Reading Program, Caszenovia College <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> Dr. Ferguson is co-author of the 3rd edition of the Guide for Developmental Courses. Ferguson was involved in numerous committees and councils with the National Association for Developmental Education.

Dr. Russel Hodges, Associate Professor, Gradute Program in Developmental Education and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Texas State University <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> Dr. Hodges is co-author of the Guide for Teaching and Learning. He is a former president of the College Reading and Learning Association. He was selected as a CLADEA Fellow.

Dr. David Arendale, Associate Professor Emeritus in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Minnesota. <link to bio sketch>, <link to CV> <link to personal web page> Dr. Arendale is the editor of the 3rd edition of the Guide for Course-based Learning Assistance. He is a former president of the National Association for Developmental education. He was selected as a CLADEA Founding Fellow.
