What is a grant?
A grant is a set amount of money that is awarded to an individual or an organization to complete an agreed upon project. The government, foundations, and colleges are institutions that give out grants.
What is a grant proposal?
A grant proposal is a highly detailed document that an individual or organization writes in order to convince a government agency or foundation to give a grant (money) to fund a project. The grant-giver sets the requirements that the project has to meet. A grant proposal has several sections, including narrative parts, budgets, research, charts, and diagrams.
Where does the money come from?
The Farm Labor Housing Program is sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Each year the Farm Labor Housing Program provides money to buy, build, or improve housing for farm laborers. The money is distributed through a grant competition.
