Prototypes bring ideas to life for designers and users. Prototypes can become the final solution with some minor modifications if needed or they may be replaced by a totally different Idea! If used properly, prototyping can be argued as the heart of Design Thinking! Prototypes are of two types.
Low Fidelity Prototypes: Low fidelity prototypes can be sketches, concept note etc. Low fidelity prototypes often do not have any functionality and are used to give a physical form to the idea. They are usually cheap and are rough drafts.
High Fidelity Prototypes: High Fidelity prototypes are closer to the final solution. They have functionality and allows designers to test their idea in the real world.
