Ajanta House

Mission/Vision/Values

Our Mission

Ajanta House is a space for South Asian solidarity initiatives. Our mission is to celebrate and explore the diverse and dynamic experiences of the South Asian diaspora in and through the arts and humanities.

Our VISION

Engage performance artists, visual artists, and storytellers to cultivate spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and empowerment across borders and boundaries of identities and cultures. We envision a world where people of the South Asian diaspora can express their stories, voices, and visions with creativity and dignity in solidarity with allies and advocates of all marginalized identities and cultures.

Our VALUES:

Creativity: We value creativity as a way of expressing our stories, voices, and visions through the arts and humanities. We encourage innovation, experimentation, and exploration in our work and activities.

Diversity: We value diversity as a source of strength and richness in our community. We respect and celebrate the diversity of experiences, identities, and cultures within the South Asian diaspora and beyond.

Solidarity: We value solidarity as a means of building mutual support and empowerment among our members and allies. We stand in solidarity with all marginalized identities and cultures in the pursuit of liberatory outcomes.

Dialogue: We value dialogue as a tool for learning, understanding, and collaboration. We foster dialogue across borders and boundaries of identities and cultures to create spaces for exchange, growth, and action.
