Coaches,
This year, 2019, teams again have two choices when entering Runners: Teams can enter Runners in the Colored Format or in Class Race Format.
COLORED RACE FORMAT
Colored Format: Is the same format as last year. Black and Blue races are composed of a team’s top four runners (1, 2, 3 and 4) while Silver and Gold races are composed of runners 5, 6, 7, and 8th runner. The top 20 finishers in EACH Colored Race earn medals. Combined results of both Colored Races determine team placing. State bound individuals who are not part of a team can compete in Colored Races.
• Boys Silver Race (Runners 5,6,7,8)
• Girls Gold Race (Runners 5,6,7,8)
• Boys Black Race (Runners 1,2,3,4)
• Girls Blue Race (Runners 1,2,3,4)
CLASS RACE (GRADE-LEVEL) FORMAT
Class Races: The purpose of this format is two-fold: First, it is to alleviate the size of Colored races. Second, it gives schools with strong runners at each grade-level the opportunity to compete for medals/trophies in a more favorable format than in the Colored Format. Coaches now have two ways to enter their teams, based on their relative strengths. The Colored Race format uses a traditional scoring method which is based on the top five finishers for scoring. The Class Race format uses a non-traditional format that is not based on the top five finishers, but on the top finishers by grade level. For example, if “Team A” had a freshman that placed 7th, sophomore 13th, junior 16th and a senior 14th , then their overall team score would be 50 points. Teams without a runner or runners in a grade-level race are not included in the final team scoring.

BOX ASSIGNMENTS: The COLORED RACES are the ONLY races in which box assignments are assigned. Box assignments may be written on team packets or a copy provided. They will also be posted on the meet website once we have them.
It's important ALL Buses enter the service road west of the gym off Linda Vista when dropping and picking up Student/Athletes. The service road is a one-way road for safety concerns and to prevent traffic from backing up.
Spectators can park at Mountain View High School or at Crooked Tree Golf Course. This year NO Buses are allowed to park in the Mountain View/Crooked Tree Golf Course parking lot. All Buses must park at Tortolita Middle School.
SHOE TAGS: Are handed out when team packets are picked up. Coaches must count tags and sign them out and return them at the end of the meet. $10 may be charged to a team for each shoe tag that is lost/or not returned. A Shoe Tag Form, on the meet site, can be filled out and mailed with any shoe tags that aren’t returned the day of the meet.
