The Munros are mountains in Scotland over 3,000 feet (914.4 m). The list was originally compiled by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891, and is modified from time to time by the Scottish Mountaineering Club (SMC). "Munro bagging" is the activity of climbing all the listed Munros (and ditto for Corbetts, Fionas, Donalds, etc etc). The number has been amended several times since Sir Hugh's original list, there are currently 282 Munro listed by the SMC.
