I am an artist based in Pembrokeshire, Wales. My work explores our relationship with nature through material and place.
The act of gathering is integral to my creative process, I spend much of my time walking through the woods and along the shoreline, hunting for treasure. Each object tells a story and through playful exploration of my findings, designs emerge.
Having studied jewellery design, I am interested in the ways that these found objects and materials can interact with the body. Combining the foraged with the made, I use etched copper to add textures and narratives to my work, wire creates structure and shape. Articulated components encourage tactile interaction and stitch is used to pull materials and ideas together. Each piece becomes a wearable part of the landscape.
I use site-specific photography to capture the essence of each piece, and I record my process through film. I am interested how both creativity and natural spaces can bring us a sense of comfort and wellbeing, and continually explore the ways in which these can interweave.
