Re-home a dermatoscope
Frequently asked questions
Can I donate from outside the UK?
Please get in touch. As a small non-profit organisation we cannot afford to fund postage to receive dermatoscopes from outside of the UK but would love to hear from you if you would still like to help.
How will you get dermatoscopes to their new homes?
In collaboration with the University of Bristol Dermatology Society (Dermsoc) we will invite UK medical students planning to visit dermatology departments or primary care clinics in low and lower-middle income countries during their medical electives to apply to receive a dermatoscope. Donated dermatoscopes will be allocated based on need. The students will take the dermatoscopes with them when they visit and leave with their host institution when they return to the UK.
How will you identify low-income countries?
We will use the official and current definitions of low and lower-middle income countries as specified by the World Bank and the OECD.
What else should I include in my package?
Anything you can think of that might be helpful will be welcomed. These might include instruction manuals and accessories relevant to that dermatoscope. Where instruction manuals are not available we will attempt to source publicly available versions to include.
