The first step in selecting a pump was figuring out the difference in mass that would be changed based on the deformation of the skin.
The gas law was factored in to demonstrate more about the air that the pump is being processed. The compressibility factor Z, is important in calculating the final flow rate.
The final goal of performing calculations for pump selection was to find a flow rate. The above calculations were performed and a range in appropriate flow rate was found to be between 800 - 2400 mL/min. This would be used in further selecting, purchasing, and implementing a pump.
