Goal: Confirm modeling methods by comparing to mathematical calculations
Assumptions:
- Poisson's Ratio = 0.49
- E = 101.2 kPa
- Thickness (epidermis and dermis) = 0.43mm
- Initial stress = 0
- Desired deformation = 1mm
- All values for Volar Forearm
- Skin is isotropic, elastic membrane
Questions:
- Does the equation proposed by Diridollou et. al match our modeling methods for circular cross sections?
- What pressure values are necessary for the selected device aperture?

Pressure calculations for circular skin patch of 6mm diameter. Required pressure was found to be approximately 25 mbar. This pressure reading was reasonable based on literature and matched the SolidWorks model (see: Contact Areas)
