Anaphylaxis -
Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening allergic reaction. It can happen seconds or minutes after being exposed to something you're allergic to, such as peanuts or bee stings. Anaphylaxis causes your immune system to release a flood of chemicals that can send you into shock, cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly, and cause your airways to narrow, preventing you from breathing. Certain foods, medications, insect venom, and latex are all common triggers. The most effective treatment for anaphylaxis is epinephrine, which should be administered immediately (usually in the thigh). If you've previously experienced anaphylaxis, keep at least two doses of epinephrine on hand at all times. If you search on the internet for the best allergist San Antonio you will definitely find us in the top five. So don't panic, just blindly trust us.
Allergic rhinitis symptoms include runny nose (watery mucus), sneezing, itchy and/or watery eyes, nasal congestion, and sinus pressure. In contrast to a cold, which should clear up in seven to ten days, symptoms may persist without much change for weeks or even months. Hay fever can aggravate asthma symptoms and increase the frequency of sinus infections (sinusitis) and ear infections. Hay fever does not have to be a problem for you! We are here to assist you. Advanced Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Center's physicians have extensive experience diagnosing and treating allergic rhinitis. We will discuss your medical history and symptoms with you before recommending testing to determine the source of your allergies. Following a diagnosis, we will create a treatment plan specifically for you. We will discuss lifestyle changes that can help you avoid allergy triggers. We also provide medication, sublingual immunotherapy (allergy drops), and allergy shots as treatment options. Allergy shots and drops reduce your immune response to allergens while also alleviating symptoms.
Microneedling -
The treatment of microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. Pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles is involved. Small wounds stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in your body, which heals your skin and makes you look younger. It's also known as collagen induction therapy.
Microneedling may help with problems such as:
Acne.
Loss of hair (also called alopecia).
Skin discoloration or patches (hyperpigmentation).
Pores that are large.
Skin elasticity has been reduced.
Scars.
Marks from stretching.
Sun exposure.
Wrinkles and fine lines.
Microneedling treatment is less expensive than laser treatments, which can be up to four times as expensive. Microneedling may be more effective for people with darker skin tones than laser treatments because it does not involve heat, which can affect your skin's pigmentation or color. Consult your dermatologist about what's best for your skin – and your wallet.
Eczema -
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic skin disorder that causes scaly, itchy rashes on the skin. Eczema is caused by a hypersensitive skin reaction. Eczema patients may lack certain proteins in their skin, which causes this sensitivity. The condition is related to other allergic conditions such as asthma, hay fever, and seasonal allergies, but allergies do not cause eczema. Many people with eczema also have asthma or allergies, and they frequently test positive on allergy skin tests. Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is most common in babies and young children. Eczema affects 90% of patients before the age of five. It can begin as early as two months and is often outgrown by adulthood. A physical exam and possibly a skin biopsy are required to properly diagnose eczema. Other causes of excessively dry or itchy skin can be ruled out with a skin biopsy. Skin testing for allergies may also be beneficial. The best first step is to take care of your skin at home, which may reduce the need for medical treatment. Avoid scratching your skin. Petroleum jelly or gentle moisturizers without alcohol or fragrances can help relieve itching and dryness (those formulated for sensitive skin may work best). Antihistamines and topical steroid creams may also be beneficial. Keep fingernails short for younger children to prevent scratching. Wearing gloves at night may also help prevent involuntary scratching while sleeping. A humidifier in the bedroom can help those who suffer from severe dryness. Avoid irritants in clothing, such as wool or lanolin, as well as strong soaps or detergents, household chemicals and solvents, stress, and sudden temperature changes. Always consult with an allergy asthma and immunology center about your at-home skin care regimen.
