Title: An Introduction to Derived Categories of Coherent Sheaves on Algebraic Varieties
Abstract: In these lectures, I will give an introduction to derived categories of coherent sheaves on algebraic varieties. I will start with the definition of the derived category of an abelian category and then discuss various derived functors. Then I will discuss derived categories of coherent sheaves on algebraic varieties and their role in recent developments in algebraic geometry. Along the way, I will introduce several key notions, e.g., the Fourier–Mukai transform, semiorthogonal decomposition, Bridgeland stability condition, etc., which play important roles in the theory.
