I’ve been coaching tennis for nearly 20 years and love helping players of all ages grow in the game. We built Derby League Tennis from the ground up to create a fun, supportive environment where kids can learn the basics and develop a lifelong love for tennis. As the head coach of the Derby High School tennis team, my focus is on character, skill development, excellence, and teamwork. My passion is helping student-athletes succeed both on the court and beyond. Making a positive impact on my players and our tennis community is what drives me every day.
Personal Bio: I am a mom to the most amazing two boys and married to my wonderful husband. We love being outside, playing with our dog, cooking together, and having impromptu dance parties! Fun fact: I play guitar and mandolin and love to play for our church's worship team.
I am in my third year as the assistant tennis coach at Derby High School. With over eight years of competitive coaching experience, along with many additional years of private and group instruction, I bring both experience and passion to the court. I was a three-time state medalist during my high school career and continued competing throughout my college years. I focus on teaching proper technique while developing mental toughness in every athlete I coach. The thing I am most proud of is my ability to foster meaningful relationships and build trust with my players.
Personal Bio: I am Kristin Kohr — though most people know me as Coach Kohr. I serve as an assistant tennis coach at Derby High School. My most important role, however, is being a wife and a mom to four amazing kids. Outside of tennis, I work as a hairstylist and love spending time baking.
I am an experienced educator and coach with eight years of teaching and tennis coaching experience. With a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, I bring a structured, growth-focused approach to player development. I emphasize strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and disciplined practice habits. My coaching style blends high expectations with encouragement, helping athletes build confidence, compete with integrity, and continuously improve. Whether working with developing players or competitive athletes, I am committed to fostering both skill development and character on and off the court.
Personal bio: My wife and I enjoy spending time relaxing and traveling. When at home we corral 5 dogs, a bearded dragon, and a bird, some say its a zoo at times. We love getting outdoors and enjoying the warm weather.
