Welcome to the Derby Business Association. We are an association made up of local businesses. Our aim is to promote all local companies in the Derby area to help each other grow organically. We provide support to many of our business partners in Derby in many different ways. These includes help and advice on items such as marketing and sales. History of Derby
Derby is a city and unitary position territory in Derbyshire, England. It lies on the banks of the River Derwent in the south of Derbyshire, of which it was the county town. Derby picked up city status in 1977, and by the 2011 census its population was 248,700.
Derby was settled by Romans – who set up the town of Derventio – Saxons and Vikings, who made Derby one of the five boroughs of the Danelaw. At first a market town, Derby filled quickly in the industrial period. Home to Lombe's Mill, an early British manufacturing plant, Derby has a case to be one of the origination of the Industrial Revolution. It contains the southern piece of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. With the appearance of the railroads in the nineteenth century, Derby turned into a focal point of the British rail industry.

Kedleston Hall isn't just a excellent example of 18th century Palladian and Neoclassical inspired architecture, it is also the ancestral residence of the Curzon family, situated in Kedleston, Derbyshire. Building work commenced in 1758 by Sir Nathaniel Curzon and it's a stunning example of the work of architect Robert Adam. Adam’s plans drew on the great monuments and villas of ancient Rome. The Curzon family is an English noble family following back to 1066s. Individuals from the family have held 14 hereditary titles, for example, Marquess Curzon of Kedleston, Earl Howe, Earl Curzon of Kedleston, Viscount Curzon, Viscount Scarsdale, Viscounts Howe, Curzon of Kedleston, Baron Scarsdale, Baron Ravensdale, Manor of Curzon, Baron Howe, Baron Curzon, Baronet Mosley, and Baronet Kedleston Hall.
