4/17/23 Classroom Environment

The environment around me during this class is good. Cleanliness wise it's also a good and breathable environment. The bond between the class and I is not that great but it's getting there. I think if we just limited some stuff from the classroom that would be great. By stuff I'd say shelves, boards and the small things that we barely use. The bond between my classmates and I is getting to a level where I can trust and feel comfortable with what I say now.

The environment outside the classroom is pretty good to me. I like how we're close to nature and we're able to breathe some fresh air before entering the class. I like the people that I'm surrounded by in class because it shows that they want to be here in the class. The cleanliness of our class is pretty good , I like how we stay on task with who cleans next. Overall I like the evironment of the class and hope it stays like this.

Freshmen Recruitment Reflection (2/13/23)

1. What? (what did you do in recruitment i.e. your role? how was recruitment conducted? how was the preparation? etc.)

2. So what? (what was the outcome of this recruitment week? how did you do? what were the freshmen's responses? etc.)

3. Now what? (how can we improve on our recruitment process? What will you do differently the next time

What?  What I did for my role for the freshmen recruitment presentation was to say my testimony. So we all decided to say one testimony after the group presenting finished their testimonies. My group was only preparing for the testimony part because we didn't have a class to present to. But the way we prepared for our testimony was to say it in a line after the group presenting finished their testimony practice round.

So What?  The outcome of this recruitment week was that we got some freshmen to join the program. I believe I did okay. One comment that touch my heart was when one of the freshman girls said that she loves how we all have a strong bond and that she can feel the good positive energy.

Now What?  I'd say we keep the same energy we have and be very bubbly to the freshmen. Next time I'd probably make my group present so that we can become more confident with strangers. I think that  every group that presented did pretty good.

Everfi Financial Literacy certification (2/3/23)

1. How useful was this course to you?

2. What were the easiest and most difficult modules?

3. What additional topic would you like for this course to cover? (investments, Social Security, retirement, etc.)

4. Why would you recommend this course?

This course was useful for me because it helped me learn things mostly about money. This course helped me learn things such as insurance, how to start my savings account, and help me with my financial planning skills. This course was useful for me because I was learning about real-world skills. This course helped me understand that I need to focus on my financial skills for my future. This course was useful for me because it helped me learn how to budget for my wants and needs.

What were the easiest and most difficult modules?- For me, I think the easiest module was budgeting. I say budgeting because it was fast for me to understand about how to save for my wants and needs. The most difficult one for me was module 6. Module 6 was difficult for me because there were a lot of things to know about financing higher education.

What additional topic would you like this course to cover?- An additional topic that I'd want this course to cover is retirement. Retirement because I'd want to know what will happen to someone's money if they were to retire. I'd want and like to learn about that process.

Why would you recommend this course?- I would recommend this course because it would help anyone learn about real-world skills. This course will help anyone who is struggling with understanding finance. I'd recommend this course because it would help those get ready for what's expected in adulting. I'd recommend this course because it'll help people with managing money, financial skills, customer skills, etc.

Japan Autumn Festival

What? The Japan Autumn Festival is known as "Akimatsuri" in Japanese. On Nov.19.2022 it was it's 41st anniversary. This event was a good way to help my consistency when I'm under pressure. It was very cool knowing the president for the Japan Club of Guam Kazumi AOKI was there. The Japan Autumn Festival was a perfect day to bring your family or friends. The Japan Autumn Festival had very good meals.

So What? During the Japan Autumn Festival, I was given the opportunity to work at one of Chef Kai's booths. When I first started working at the shish kabob booth it was pretty nerve racking knowing that I'll be working with dozens of people. After working there for a while I got used to working with my partner Masae. I feel like working as a team with Masae was a big success. Even if we don't have the experience of working together ever I am very proud of how hard we both worked together.

"Now What?"  If I were given the opportunity to do this activity again I think i'd bring a big bottle of water because they had very small bottles of water. I think what I brought to the festival was what I needed. I'd probably try to do a different booth with a different partner. I'd probably stick with wearing shoes just because It was on the grass. Overall the event was very fun and I'll highly recommend every student in HTMP to do it.
