About the Department

WELCOME

to

Department of English

The Department of English started its journey in the year 2002. The department offers four-year undergraduate Honours Course in English (CCF), Honours Course in English (CBCS) along with three-year multi-disciplinary syllabus for General students. The department believes in the potential of each and every student who takes admission to the courses offered. The students are given various opportunities to improve themselves and are encouraged to think independently and express themselves through various projects and presentations that they prepare. The department has a group of dedicated teachers who are involved in the process of mentoring and guiding the students towards positive results. Special attention in the form of tutorial and remedial classes is provided to students who may face initial difficulties with the subject. Apart from the traditional method of lecturing, the teachers extensively use ICT tools to make the teaching-learning process more engaging. The department also arranges guest lectures by external faculty to provide the students with innovative and fresh insights into various topics relevant to the syllabus. Film screenings are organized at regular intervals. The students engage in group discussions and are continually assessed through both oral and written tests.
