The Department of Physics started its activity in 1971 and there is no looking back since then. The department came into existence for imparting Graduate and Post Graduate education for economically backward people of Eastern Vidarbha. To involve the students for higher education in the year 2003, the department had started the M. Sc. Physics course. For promoting Research activity in the year 2012, the Department started his own Research Center facilitating most of the Research facilities in the area of Luminescence and thin film.
