Last year, the government announced that schools must be closed due to the corona virus that threatened the lives of our children. However, the Department of Education, believes that even in pandemic, education must continue. With this, DepEd made a drastic shift from traditional teaching to blended learning. This transition changed the lives of not only the students and parents but also the teachers. From teaching in a classroom setting to modular approach and online learning, the teachers must cope with the sudden change of their environment.

Though many teachers have knowledge in terms of skills in the use of MS Office, Google Apps, and different Learning Management Systems, not all the teachers are advanced. Lloyd Benitez De Guzman, thought that there should be a portal wherein teachers gather to have the capacity to adapt to the changing educational system. This led to the creation of this site.

DepEd Open Educational Resources is a site wherein both private and public teachers can have unlimited access to all information about learning, technology, media, modules, tests, and other digital and non-digital materials.

This site also includes updates about DepEd’s news and announcements, as well as free access to various downloadable forms. In addition, this site features video lessons and tutorials of our many talented teacher-vloggers from all over the Philippines. Bernadine G. Cubacub.
