FGD on the Functionality of School CPC
On November 5, 2024, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held at Sto. Niño Elementary School to evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of School-based Child Protection Committees (CPCs). The session brought together representatives from 34 schools, including school heads, guidance counselors, teacher and learner representatives, as well as Barangay officials.
The primary objective of the FGD was to establish clear indicators for assessing the performance of CPCs in schools, ensuring that these committees are effectively safeguarding students' rights and well-being. During the discussion, participants reviewed the current status of their CPCs in relation to five critical areas: organization and coordination, policies and guidelines, capacities and resources, service delivery, and accountability and performance.

on Safe Spaces Act
The Schools Division Office through the Learner Rights and Protection Unit conducted an Orientation-Workshop on RA 11313 or Safe Spaces Act on November 6-8, 2024 at the Monaco Strip and Hotel, in Taytay, Rizal.
The activity aimed to capacitate the Division and School Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) with the necessary knowledge and strategies to create a safe environment, develop a CODI Handbook and Code of Conduct, and create a Work Application Plan or an action plan focused on establishing safe spaces and reducing incidents of gender-based sexual harassment in the workplace and schools.
