About

The department of sociology provides an academically challenging program of study that allows its students to develop sociological insight. The department is committed to educate its students about the realities of human social interaction ranging from large scale institutional perspective to even small daily interaction.

Since human social life is fraught with inequalities and oppression we train our students to think critically so that they become responsive members of their community. Department seeks to equip students with a sound academic foundation that helps them to question critically, think logically and live ethically. We unitedly aim at transmitting knowledge in social science to promote social development.

The department of Sociology follows and implements the syllabus approved by the university board of studies. We have recently started a departmental library other than the college library for the benefit of the students.

•Enriched materials are kept to support their academic program.

•Books are circulated to the students weekly

•We encourage our students to access the books for their reference.

Economically poor students who are incapable in buying books gets benefited from this library.
