Academics

In pursuit of its mission to make the functioning of the Department responsive to the needs of its students, Department of Physiology has always explored new avenues of growth. Department invites eminent people from the field of science to interact with our students on a regular basis. Department has been visited in the recent times by:


  • Prof. Somnath Gangopadhyay, Head, Department of Physiology, University of Calcutta

  • Dr. Bhaskar Roy Choudhury, Ex-Vice Chancellor, University of Calcutta

  • Prof. M. Poddar Sarkar, Dept. of Botany, University of Calcutta


It has also been a constant endeavor on the part of the department to enrich our faculty profile by harnessing the services of faculty members from other allied departments. The following faculty members have been extending their unflinching support in this regard in spite of their hectic work schedule by conducting classes on a regular basis:


  • Mr. Sanjoy Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics teaches Biostatistics

  • Dr. Priyanka Khanduri, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany teaches Molecular Biology



Results of the students (2013-2017)

Pride of the department: Our achievers spread far and wide:


  • Our student Debopriyo Mukherjee has secured First Position (First Class First) in the B.Sc. Hons. Examination of University of Calcutta in the year 2018.

  • Some holding respectable positions in Reputed Pharmaceutical Companies like GSK, Abbott, Lupin, Cipla, Medley, Nordisk, Sun Pharma and few more.

  • Many of them are associated with reputed Health Institutions as paramedics

  • Two of them have cracked the West Bengal Civil Service Examination.

  • Many of them have successfully completed Post Graduation and serving different Colleges as Guest Faculty

  • In fact three of the Ex-students have joined the department as Guest Faculty

  • A couple of them have secured Rank in the Undergraduate Examination of the University and completed Post Graduation from the University of Calcutta
