Welcome! My name is Jade Bullock and I am a first year student from Davenport, IA. I am majoring in Medical Anthropology on a pre-med track. I am a member Black Student Union and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Outside of service projects, I enjoy listening to music, watching Netflix/tv, and hanging out with my sorority sisters. Hawkeye Service Team has by far been my highlight of my first year and I would recommend this to anyone.

Hello! My name is Alexa Maakestad and I am a first year student studying Human Physiology on the Pre-Physician Assistant track. I graduated from Osage Community High School in 2017 and started school at the University of Iowa the following fall. I am involved in Campus Activities Board and Dance Marathon, and I also volunteer in the NICU at The University of Iowa Hospitals. When I am not studying, I enjoy listening to music, watching classic Rom-Coms on Netflix, and hanging out with my friends and family.

Hello! My name is Sevanah Thomas and I am a first year student. My major is Human Physiology and I am on the Pre-Med track. Some things I like to do for fun are camping, late night drives, and service work. This trip was an amazing opportunity for me to connect with others who also have a love for service work. I was able to make some amazing new friends along with learning about organizations who make a tremendous impact. If anyone would ask me if I would like to do this again, I would say yes! This is something that I highly recommend others around me participate in.

Hi! My name is Jessica Arteaga and I am a second year student from Chicago. I am majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology on the Pre-Med track. This is my second time being a part of an ASB group and it has been one of my most memorable experience. I am a part of Dance Marathon, West Liberty Pen Pal program, and MAPS. My name is Alison Hershley and I am a first year student from Waukee, IA studying Accounting and Finance. One day I hope to be a CFO of a company. At the University, I am involved with the Multicultural Business Student Association through the Tippie College of Business. Hey y'all! I'm Jonathan (Jon) Sanford, and I'm a second year student from Independence, Iowa. My majors include Political Science, Economics, and Ethics & Public Policy; while my minors are International Relations and Sociology. My dream career is to one day work with the United Nations, but until then I hope to apply the skills I've learned at the University of Iowa in governmental and international organizations, with the ultimate goal of helping people.

The student organizations I am actively participating in include: Pi Sigma Alpha (Vice President & Finance Director), ONE (Vice President & Treasurer), Human Rights Student Collective (Director of Finance), Students for Human Rights (President of Finance), Active Minds, and Student Advocates for Planned Parenthood. My name is Michael Meyer. I am currently a junior studying Enterprise Leadership and Sports & Recreation Management with a concentration in Communications and Public Relations. At the university, I am a member of the Sports & Rec Management Club and Iowa Qudditch Club. I am also a captain for OnIowa! (Go Hawks). I like to play video games, explore new places, go on road trips, and play basketball (even though I'm terrible).

My name is Alexia Sanchez and I am second year student here at the amazing University of Iowa! I am from Des Moines, Iowa and I am currently studying Political Science, Ethics & Public Policy with a Sociology Minor.

When I am not studying, you can usually find me involved on campus. I am a member of Campus Activities Board where we plan events for the student body. I am also a senator in the University of Iowa Student Government. I am able to work on projects and initiatives that improve the student life on campus. I am also a Resident Assistant in Stanley Residence Hall where I have the opportunity to assist first year students through their transition to college.

I am a huge dog lover and food eater. I love going on hikes and watching documentaries. I am so happy I had the opportunity to attend a Hawkeye Service Trip this year with a great team. Our trip to Denver, Colorado was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I highly encourage this program to other UIowa students. Go Hawks!
