My project involves using the DenseTact, a novel optical tactile sensor developed by the ARMLab, to accurately predict microforces in order to dexterously handle delicate fruits including raspberries and blueberries. After training a ResNet model on a dataset of images and forces, the densetact can predict forces. It is attached to the robotiq gripper and kinova gen3 arm and is able to pick up fruit.
