Electronic symbols are mainly used for shortening the drafting as well as to understand the circuit diagram. These symbols are identical throughout the industry. The addition of a dot, line, letters, shading & numbers provides an exact meaning of a symbol.
What is the importance of circuit diagram and symbols?
A drawing meant to depict what the physical arrangement of the wires and the components they connect is called "artwork" or "layout" or the "physical design." Circuit diagrams are used for the design (circuit design), construction (such as PCB layout), and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment.
Though electrical symbols are standardized, they may vary from country to country, or engineering disciplines, based on traditional conventions.
This enables anyone to read electrical circuits or Electrical schematic diagrams and floor plans with ease and clarity.
Electrical symbols represent the components of electrical and electronic circuits and do not define any function or process unless the circuit is implemented with components being physically used. (E.g. the circuit on a breadboard or assembled printed circuit board)
There is a circuit symbol for each and every electrical component or device used in a circuit such as passive components, active components, measuring instruments, logic gates, etc.
